New Features to Watch Out For

A New Demo for Korean News Websites

In response to the increasing demand for specialized local content, the update introduces a dedicated Korean News Insight Demo. This will help news outlets targeting a Korean audience set up a website that meets their specific needs quickly.

Performance Optimization

Among the most anticipated features are options to minify and aggregate inline CSS of blocks, accessible directly from the Theme Panel. Additionally, you can now hide the mobile menu and mobile search functions, offering a cleaner user experience on mobile devices.

The Newspaper Theme has leveled up its performance by optimizing the Theme Panel’s color settings through CSS variables. Moreover, JavaScript files will only be loaded when they are needed, which should noticeably improve the website’s speed.

The update is a boon for Advanced Custom Fields (ACF) users, as it adds support for the ACF file type. Moreover, galleries now support module templates, providing more room for customization.

Important Improvements

Shortcodes Get Smarter

The ‘display restrictions’ options have been added to various shortcodes like Menu Login, Modal Popup, and Inline text, making them more versatile than ever. A vertical alignment option for images has also been introduced in the Posts Loop shortcode, offering better layout control.

Taxonomies and Custom Filtration

The update adds a feature for custom field support on ‘Filter by tag slug’ and introduces custom filtration for the Single Related Taxonomy. These improvements give you even more ways to categorize and filter your content, making site navigation a breeze for your users.

Design Flexibility

Design options in the Newspaper Theme have been extended to include background gradient options for columns and inner columns. Additionally, the vertical alignment of modules has been optimized in the Flex Loop and Block Builder.

Noteworthy Fixes

A pesky error on the mobile theme subscription submission has been fixed, ensuring a smoother experience for mobile users.

Tweaks for Admins and Editors

The update removes ads for admin and editors, allowing a more focused working environment. Also, the Twitter logo has been updated to its new version.

Template and Other Fixes

Deprecated notices have been taken care of, and various fixes have been implemented in areas like gallery functionality and Woo Attributes Filters.

In summary, the latest Newspaper Theme update takes significant strides in enhancing functionality, customization, and user experience. Get your theme updated to make the most of these exciting new features and improvements.

  1. Hello

I’m very interested in purchasing the Newspaper theme. After watching the video demo I was extremely impressed by it. However I do have a few questions. The questions mainly have to deal with images. How hard is it to set the featured image? What do I do? Image sizes need to be very specific as I am planning on sending the RSS feed to MSN and Yahoo for syndication. They require that in post images need to be 500 x 500, featured images should be no larger than 800 X 1000, how difficult is it to edit images to those sizes using TAV, or can I use WP for setting image sizes and placement? In a few articles I am planning on creating, there will be a featured image and possibly 10 images. Is this an issue in creating posts?
Lastly, it it possible to create “buy it now” buttons for editorial articles. Those buttons would be hyperlinked directly to the item.
Thank you so much for your time and patience.

    • Hi,

      Sorry for the delay.

Setting a featured image is a wordpress capability, and it is not hard to do. Usually the general recommendation for the featured image in terms of size, is a minimum of 1200px wide. There are many articles online about it, for example https://www.hillwebcreations.com/google-image-guidelines/ It would be best to follow the size recommendation. The in post images could have any size, you can modify the wordpress thumbnail sizes or upload them directly in the size you want. There’s no issue with using as many images as you want in your posts. In terms of design, you can choose a post template which is best suited depending on the size of your featured images. For example a post template design that displays a large full width featured image will not display the best if the featured image you use is small. There are however all kinds of post templates that we provide https://cloud.tagdiv.com/#/load/Single Using buttons in the post content or in the post template is perfectly possible, that won’t be a problem.

Please let us know if you have more questions. I suggest to send us an email at contact@tagdiv.com Or please use the themeforest messaging system, which is usually used for presale questions https://themeforest.net/item/newspaper/5489609/comments

      Thank you!
